Algonquin property management

One Point Property Management leases and manages rental homes in Algonquin, on both sides of the Fox River, including the newer subdivisions and townhome communities along Randall Road. Our Hoffman Estates office is about twenty minutes away.

  • Newer housing stock that rents well to families in Community Unit District 300
  • Randall Road retail, medical and employment corridor at the village's edge
  • Fox River recreation and the historic downtown draw long-term residents

Algonquin’s housing is newer than most of the northwest suburbs. The subdivisions that filled in during the 1990s and 2000s along Randall Road and west of Route 31 are full of two-story family homes and townhomes with attached garages, the kind of home that relocating families rent for a year or two while they learn the area. The older village center near the river has bungalows and Cape Cods on smaller lots.

Renters are drawn by Community Unit School District 300, including Jacobs High School, and by the shopping, restaurants and medical offices along Randall Road. The Fox River, the bike trails and the historic downtown are why many of them stay and renew.

What drives demand here

Schools, newer homes and the Randall Road corridor. Algonquin straddles the McHenry and Kane County line, so the village pulls renters from both counties and from Elgin and Crystal Lake employers.

Before you rent out a home in Algonquin

Most Algonquin homes sit in McHenry County; some are in Kane. Association declarations in the newer subdivisions may limit leasing. We check the county and the documents before listing.

Questions Algonquin owners ask.

What does property management cost?

A monthly management fee as a percentage of collected rent, plus a leasing fee when we place a new resident. There are no hidden charges; the full fee schedule is in the management agreement before you sign. Request a proposal and you will have the numbers for your specific home within one business day.

Where do you manage property?

The northwest suburbs of Chicago: Hoffman Estates, Schaumburg, Palatine, Arlington Heights, Mount Prospect, Rolling Meadows, Elgin, Algonquin, Crystal Lake, Mundelein and the surrounding communities in Cook, Kane, Lake and McHenry Counties. If your home is nearby but not on the list, ask.

How quickly will my home rent?

A well-presented home priced to current leases in its attendance area usually has qualified applications within the first two weeks. The biggest variables are price, condition and season. We tell you before listing what each choice will likely cost in days on market.

My home is in an association. Can it be rented?

Often yes, but the declaration has to be read first. Some associations cap the number of rentals, set minimum lease terms or require board approval and a move-in fee. We review the documents before listing and handle the approval as part of leasing.
